Site preparation

Once approved, we'll schedule your project and do all the necessary preparation, including excavation, drainage, base preparation, formwork, and steel reinforcement.

Concrete placement and finishing

Our team will place and finish your concrete to specification using quality materials and proven techniques. Whether you have a broom finish, exposed aggregate, coloured concrete or decorative finish, every detail is completed with precision.

Step 5

Common Questions

How much does a concrete driveway cost in Auckland?

The cost of a concrete driveway in Auckland depends on factors such as size, site access, slope and the type of finish selected. The best way to get an accurate price is through an on-site assessment, after which we'll provide a clear, fixed quote with no surprises.

How long does it take to complete a concrete driveway?

This depends on the size of the project, however a standard residential driveway timeline could look like this. Days 1-3, preparation before concrete pouring. You can still walk up and down the driveway while we're prepping. Day 4 is pour day, when we need to stay off the concrete. If the concrete is poured in the morning, you should be able to walk on it with flat shoes that evening. Ideally you would stay off it until the next day. For a residential driveway, you would need to keep light vehicles (e.g. cars, utes, SUVs) off the concrete for 6-7 days and trucks 10-12 days.

Do you remove the old driveway as part of the job?

Yes, we can take care of removing your existing driveway. After our site visit, this will be included in your detailed quote if required.

How thick do you pour concrete for a driveway?

Most residential concrete driveways are poured at a thickness of at least 100mm to minimise the risk of shrinkage and cracking. For right-of-way driveways or commercial areas, a thicker slab of around 150mm is generally used to handle increased load and traffic.

Are there different types of concrete finishes that we can choose from?

Yes, there are several concrete finishes available for your driveway, depending on the look and functionality you want to achieve. Common options include a broom finish, trowel finish, exposed aggregate, and exposed pebble aggregate. We can also apply additional treatments such as acid washing or sealing to enhance the appearance and durability. The best option will depend on your site conditions and the style you're aiming for.

Can we choose coloured concrete for our driveway?

Absolutely. Different colours or shades of concrete can be created by adding oxides to the concrete at the plant before we bring it to your site. We can show you colour samples ahead of time as a guide. Just note that the finished concrete may initially display slight colour variations or a mottled appearance due to the placement and finishing process. As the concrete cures, the colour will gradually stabilise and develop its final shade.
